The Frankincense in This Gift Set

Holiaum’s frankincense comes from Somaliland, home to one of the world’s last remaining wild frankincense forests.
Here, the trees grow without cultivation in dry, rocky mountains, following the rhythm of nature. Over decades, and even centuries, they slowly transform the essence of the land into resin.
Holiaum works directly with small-scale local harvesters, sourcing in small batches without overharvesting or rushing the seasons. This allows the trees to continue growing at their own natural pace.
This gift set features two distinct varieties, blended together:
Somaliland top-grade frankincense
Boswellia frereana, Somaliland endemic species

A : Absolutely. Our ritual guide walks you through everything you need to know, from getting to know the resin to using and caring for the incense burner. Even if this is your first time, you’ll find it easy to get started. All you need is ten minutes for yourself.
Q: What’s the difference between frankincense resin and frankincense essential oil?
A : Frankincense essential oil is a liquid extract distilled from the resin, while frankincense resin is the natural solid resin collected from the tree.
When gently heated over a tealight flame, the resin slowly releases its aroma. This is one of the oldest and most traditional ways people have experienced frankincense for thousands of years.
Q: How much frankincense resin should I use? Can I use it more than once?
A : We recommend 3–6 pieces each time. You can adjust the amount depending on the size of the resin and how strong you like the aroma. The same resin can be used again and again. As long as it still has fragrance, there’s no need to replace it. Simply replace it once it has fully carbonized.
Q: Is it normal for the resin to become sticky or slightly burnt when heated?
A :Yes, that’s completely normal. As frankincense heats up, it softens into a sticky, paste-like texture. This is actually when its aroma is at its richest.
If the bottom becomes slightly charred, gently turn the resin over with a small stick or move it to the edge of the burner. You can also use a cotton swab to remove the charred part. A little charring won’t affect the aroma, and the resin can continue to be enjoyed.
Q: What if I don’t want to clean the resin after each use, what else can I do?
A : No problem. The incense burner included in the gift set is designed for heating frankincense resin directly. For easier cleanup, simply place a small piece of aluminum foil on the tray before adding the resin. Once the candle has finished burning and the burner has cooled, remove the foil along with the used resin. The resin can then be reused.
Q: Can the two types of resins be separated?
A: The two resins are blended together in the gift set, so each use brings you their combined aroma. We blend them intentionally to create a more complete scent experience, balancing a clear, uplifting opening with a deep, rich finish.
Q: How should I store frankincense resin?
A : After use, seal the resin tightly and store it in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from direct sunlight.
There’s no need to refrigerate it. Stored properly, the resin can retain its aroma for a long time.

Please make sure your purchase was made through the official Holiaum website to be eligible for a return or exchange within seven days of receiving your order.
Please note that the seven-day period is for inspection, not for trying or using the product. Returned products must be in brand-new condition with all original packaging intact, including the product itself, accessories, bags, boxes, and paper materials. Please do not remove accessories, disassemble the product, or damage the packaging or product.
For returns requested for personal reasons, except in cases of product defects, the original shipping fee will be borne by the customer.
If you experience a noticeable allergic or adverse reaction after use, please provide a photo or documentation from a dermatologist. Once the situation has been reviewed and confirmed by both parties, a refund may be requested. Without supporting documentation, we may be unable to process a refund.
【Defective or Damaged Products】
If your product arrives with a manufacturing defect, is damaged, or does not match what you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it, including weekends and holidays.
Please provide a complete unboxing video, starting from the moment the package is opened, so we can confirm that the defect or damage was present upon arrival.
Once confirmed, we’ll arrange a replacement or refund and cover the shipping costs both ways.
